Larry Ballard Yesterday we were in Dahlonega , GA . So was everybody else . Autumn in the mountains … The parking situation was pretty dismal around the square making it impossible to visit out usual haunts , and while cutting through the college campus to go to the other side of town we “ discovered “ a college haunt , Johnny B’s Pizza . It had a lived in look, sprawling in an old building that was once a multi-storefront , now completely taken over by Johnny B’s. They had a bar , several dining rooms , a patio and a screened in porch . The pizza was Chicago thin , and pretty good . The cheese was not greasy , which means it’s good cheese, the pepperoni was a little bland , but not bad . My only complaint is I ordered extra cheese and heavy sauce and I think the server got confused and thought I said light sauce . The sauce that was there was pretty good . We had mozzarella sticks , they were hand battered . The pizza was tasty , and the wings were voted the best in town 6 years running by the local newspaper readership - my wife confirms that they are in fact , the best around , and she is a wing -nut ! Will be going back !

Cole Varnadoe Best experience of the entire trip. Wonderful views, kind and friendly staff, and best food I’ve had in a long time. Attended on Saturday, 12-13-25 at 5 pm. Restaurant did not feel crowded. Ordered the Gouda cheese nuggets, chicken w/ risotto, and Asian beef strip dish. I have no points of improvement whatsoever. This was top notch.

From the moment we stepped in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere embraced us. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Jagersnitzel with mushroom gravy. The dish was a true delight, with the flavors blending perfectly. The tender schnitzel accompanied by the rich mushroom gravy left me craving for more. It was a culinary masterpiece. The vinegar-based potato salad served at room temperature was a revelation. It was the best potato salad Ive ever had. The tangy and refreshing taste complemented the meal perfectly, making it a standout dish. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I indulged in the German cheesecake, and it was simply heavenly. The creamy texture, coupled with the delightful flavors, made it an absolute treat. I must also commend the dedication of the staff and the owner. The owner himself worked behind the bar and served us a selection of Dunkle and heirewizen beers, which were both delicious and refreshing. The cook, James, added a touch of entertainment to our dining experience with his witty banter and playful exchanges with the owner. It was an enjoyable and fun-filled evening. What struck me the most was the sense of community and camaraderie among the locals. Reens Bratzeit & Biergarten seems to be a popular spot where everyone knows everyone. As an out-of-towner, I felt welcomed and included in the laughter and jokes shared by the locals. It was a heartwarming experience that made me feel like a part of the community, even if just for a little while. Overall, my visit to Reens Bratzeit & Biergarten was nothing short of exceptional. The delicious food, friendly staff, and vibrant atmosphere created an experience that will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for an authentic German dining experience with a side of warm hospitality.

Joe Horne After living in Dahlonega for 2yrs, we finally got around to trying El Jimador. Our bad! This restaurant blows the doors off the other Mexican restaurant in town. We started off with a large chunky guacamole, which was perfect, my wife had 3 Street Tacos: chicken, beef, and pork which she loved (they’re so big she only ate ½ of each, which provided great leftovers), and I had the Camerones al Chipotle which was delicious. The margarita my wife had was fantastic as well. When considering Mexican food in Dahlonega, don’t hesitate going to El Jimador. You won’t be disappointed!

Bri West We stopped in for breakfast and the owner (we assume) was great. He was attentive and helpful as they were busy and the waitresses had a lot on their plate. I ordered the sausage egg and cheese biscuit (8/10) , a white chocolate raspberry iced coffee (10/10) and my husband got the pimento BLT with double tomato basil soup (9/10). Staff were all friendly, the cafe is cozy and we would recommend to anyone in the area. Seating is self seat and you might have to wait, we got lucky and only had to wait a couple minutes.

Luis Colon The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and beautiful. I have had the salmon and also the sea bass. They were both incredible. But the sea bass melts in your mouth. Stephanie was great. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

ELAINE CIVI This adorable little Waffle House is the newest addition to Dahlonega. Very clean, friendly fast service, hot delicious food! Our Hostess was Melissa and she was a gem. Best waffles weve had in a very long time!

We stopped by Zen Ramen & Bento during a day Christmas trip to Dahlonega, and it was a fantastic find right off the square. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a comforting meal after exploring the town. We ordered a couple of ramen bowls (went with the classic Tonkotsu and a spicy variation), and we absolutely loved the noodles, they were perfectly cooked with that ideal chewy texture, and the broth was rich and flavorful without being overwhelming. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh quickly. The service was friendly and attentive, just like many others have mentioned. It’s a great spot for authentic ramen in a small town, highly recommend if you’re craving something warm and satisfying. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Elizabeth Kinard Great bbq, homemade fries and customer service. Pulled pork sandwich was great but don’t sleep on the fried chicken tenders! My son got them and they are so good my husband and I polished off his plate. Service was fast and friendly! Worth a stop for sure!
