Amy We stopped here bc of Google reviews. We were passing through Altoona and decided to check it out. It’s definitely worth it. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are all fantastic. You don’t just have one server… they all come to your table and they’re very attentive. The food was good and the portions are huge. Prices are also good. Check it out!

Ross Everhart Out of town from Tennessee. We really enjoyed this place and will return next time we visit our family. Our server Tori was wonderful, very kind, and on top of everything. The food was really great too. We liked the vibes, and the drinks as well. Everything considered, I’m glad we stopped by our experience was very pleasant! Highly recommend.

3.The Grouses Nest

Alex Flowers I wish I could add a sound clip instead of a picture. Its so unbelievably loud in here that I can hardly even hear the waitress when she comes to my table. If I wanted hardcore metal at 400 decibels Id go to a concert, not the hotel restaurant. Its really unfortunate, because the food was delicious, the drinks were incredible, and then theres the waitress who was probably the best Ive ever had! ...but the atmosphere is just terrible.

Lexi Kolar While in Altoona for a wedding, our group of five stopped at Eat’n Park for a nostalgic breakfast—and it didn’t disappoint. We were warmly welcomed and quickly seated by Mallory, and the whole team made us feel right at home. Our server, Angel, was truly exceptional. She was kind, attentive, and clearly takes great pride in her work. Even while working extremely hard to help clean and bus tables, she made sure we had everything we needed. Her positive energy and dedication really stood out. The food was classic and comforting, and we took home one of the freshest batches of smiley cookies we’ve ever had! Overall, a fantastic experience that reminded us why we’ve always loved Eat’n Park. We left full and smiling—can’t wait to come back!

6.Jaidee Thai Restaurant

Robert Williams Jaidee Thai is far and away my #1 favorite restaurant Ive yet to visit. Always a 5 star meal, no matter what dishes we chose. It was the 1st thai restaurant Ive ever been to and still the best without comparison. Ive never had a single dish that wasnt prepared perfectly. Everything i have had there is either unique to Jaidee or a better version of than Ive had anywhere else. There isnt a single thing ive had that I wouldnt highly recommend. My favorite aspect of frequenting Jaidee is the fact that theyve constantly got specials added to the menu that are either new for me, or favorites that Im making a special trip to make sure I get. Its the type of place where you can order something that youve never tried and its gonna be amazing every single time. Whether you like super spicy food like me, or you like no spice...theyll make everything the way you ask(including, but not limited to, substitutions for food sensitivity or allergies). I cannot recommend Jaidee enough. Top things i would recommend: Appetizer Fried dumplings(every single time) Crispy papaya salad(when on special) Basically anything thats on special Main menu Pineapple fried rice Green curry(perfect with salmon) Massaman Curry(always with crispy duck) Best specials ever Osso Bucco(usually prik pao) Green papaya salad(favorite thing ever)

8.Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant · Altoona

Address: 2900 Plank Rd #3, Altoona, PA 16602

Trina Williams Plaza Azteca in the middle of Altoona was such a great find! In a town without a ton of restaurant options, it was clearly the place to be. The space is decorated in a modern, bright, and inviting style that makes you feel welcome right away. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we loved the table-side guacamole—made fresh right in front of us and absolutely delicious. What really stood out for me was the menu. They had more than a couple vegan options, which automatically earns them an extra star in my book. It’s not always easy to find that in smaller towns, so I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t know when I’ll be passing through Altoona again, but if I do, Plaza Azteca will definitely be a stop for me.

gregg schorner All the breakfast staples, but went for the breakfast pizza, which was awesome awesome! Centrally located on 17th street, easy to get in and out of, with plenty of parking. Family friendly (a number of tables with toddlers) and better prices than the chain restaurants in town. Lots of seating, counter service, booths, and large tables. They even have several banquet rooms for private functions.

Niki Rousell OBSESSED WITH THESE WINGS!!! They are absolutely the best wings we have ever had! Highly suggest the wings, ribs, and pulled chicken! The hush puppies were delicious, green beans were flavorful and unexpected, and the butter for the cornbread is like Texas Roadhouse butter, but better!
