Dana Dryzal Went here for my birthday last week and most definitely will be back. I’ve been wanting to try this place for a few years and everything surpassed my expectations. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I ordered a filet mignon and dare I say it was the best steak I’ve had! I am a foodie and eat a lot of steak, so I’m not kidding! The crust/sear was amazing and it was cooked to perfection. We tried “all the sauces” and it was so fun to try all the different flavors. I’ve been to a few steakhouses where the steaks are great, but the sides are forgotten…and let me tell you, that was not the case here. The whipped potatoes were the best potatoes I’ve ever had. I received a complimentary little birthday celebration cheesecake (along with a card signed by the staff!) that was delicious in addition to the chocolate mousse cake. This place is undoubtedly pricey but well worth the money for a special event!

Alexander Fletcher A 5 star restaurant through and through. A beautiful restaurant overlooking the city (a bit difficult to get to- I recommend taking the Duquesne incline up). The attention to detail was incredible, everything was perfectly done. We visited for an anniversary and they took all the steps to ensure a wonderful experience for us. We started with the heirloom tomato burrata and it was incredibly fresh and the tomato’s were perfectly meaty and paired perfectly with the house sour dough bread. The Parmesan crusted swordfish was so tender and perfectly salty! Paired well with a bottle of wine recommended by the one and only, Buffalo Blake! The French onion filet mignon was so perfectly cooked and tender, and the au jus was so tasty I could have drank right from the serving cup. We finished with some crème brûlée that was perfectly creamy and sweet. The service staff also brought us out a sample of their house bourbon and one of their angel cake grilled cheeses for our anniversary celebration. This place just did not miss! Also please ignore our big back activity of trying two different deserts; they were well worth the taste! Would definitely love to come back here for more special occasions. If you can, ask for Blake, he takes great care of his guests!

Sophia Emerick Stumbled upon this restaurant on our walk, they took us right in and seated us! Very beautiful interior, wonderful staff all around. Everyone from the hosts, waiters and wait staff were all friendly and attentive! My husband and I thought the food was out of this world good! We had the ahi wontons, my husband had a salad an I had the crab soup to start. The soup was some of the best Ive ever had. Everything had such vreta flavors. We each had a cocktail as well, which were both great. I had the chimichurri steak and shrimp which was incredible, and my husband had waygu with lobster. All excellent. The carrot cake was huuuuge and amazing! Our server Matthew was so friendly and attentive. He was such a calm and delightful server, and gave us some Pittsburgh places to visit! We already cant wait to come back!! I didnt get many meal photos because I was too busy enjoying the meal. We will not forget this dinner!

Serena P Eddie V’s made my 45th birthday truly unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, everything was phenomenal. The cuisine was exceptional—beautifully prepared, flavorful, and worth every bite. The ambience struck the perfect balance between elegant and welcoming, and the live music elevated the entire experience, creating a warm, celebratory vibe without being overwhelming. Our waiter, Tyler, was outstanding. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made us feel incredibly special throughout the evening. The thoughtful birthday decor and handwritten card from the restaurant were such a classy, personal touch and really showed how much Eddie V’s values their guests. This was more than a dinner—it was an experience. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a milestone. Highly recommend for special occasions or anytime you want top-tier service, atmosphere, and food.

Harshvardhan I went for dinner and everything from the food to the service, to the amazing skyline view was simply outstanding. The moment I walked in, the team made me feel genuinely welcome. Giovanni, my server, was incredible, knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to explain every dish and cocktail without ever making me feel rushed. Mick, the GM, was equally wonderful and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. I tried one of their cocktails, the out-of-menu shrimp, risotto, and crab - every bite was phenomenal. The focaccia bread and butter alone were heavenly! The attention to detail, presentation, and warmth of the staff made the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re in Pittsburgh and looking for a place that combines world-class food with thoughtful service and a stunning atmosphere, Altius should be at the very top of your list. Highly recommend! Will visit again.

Chanel Smith Our wedding reception was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The venue was stunning and the views were breathtaking, the perfect backdrop for such a special day. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran seamlessly. The food was delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests. Every detail was handled with care and we genuinely felt like our day was as important to the team as it was to us. We could not have asked for a more beautiful and unforgettable celebration. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a flawless wedding experience.

Dellyion Bowman Went here for my Aunts birthday. The food was delicious and all of the staff were attentive especially our waiter Paul. They kept her cake for us and brought it out with candles. An all around great experience.

Kiana Primer I firstly want to start off by saying- Our server Bobby was such a delight! He was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The whole staff seemed well coordinated and friendly/welcoming. The atmosphere is dim lit with great music choice. The food was delicious! Easily accommodated 4 people. I will be back. Once again, thank you to our server Bobby.

Alma Macchiaroli First time at Hyde Park for my birthday dinner . We seated in a booth per our request upon arriving. Our servers Logan and John were both amazing, very attentive with great interpersonal skills. Our meal began with the calamari which was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was crispy, fresh and had a unique Asian flair to the dish. Next, we had a Caesar salad that had great tasting dressing and croutons. Our main dishes consisted of the Steak Malkin Ribeye, Hines Ward filet cooked medium rare and the garlic whipped potatoes. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were creamy and delicious. For dessert, we ordered the butter cake and given a birthday dessert as well. During our meal, we had a visit from one of the managers, Kylie who welcomed us and took the time to talk to us a few minutes. This was a great dining experience and will make this my steakhouse for all occasions.
