Kelly Olson What a great diner experience! There are so many WONDERFUL options to choose from and it was tough to decide! They are very accommodating to make 2 egg omelettes rather than 3 and the super spuds are a skillet without eggs - which is just my jam! They can customize almost anything to suit your taste! Great food and good friendly service! So nice to find a local place with good local folks! This is a great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch in a welcoming environment with good food! Seems like a place regulars meet up! Thanks Carlos, this place is a treasure!

David Weiner First time here. My type of place. Small, intimate and cozy. We started with the heirloom apple salad, moved on to the mushroom handheld and the pork tenderloin. Everything was very good. The salad large enough for two. The tenderloin, perfectly cooked and paired with a sauce made from apples. We had no room for dessert. The service was great. Overall a home run.

Denise Fisher This was, hands down, the best and most authentic Italian we have ever had! If it was local to me I would be a regular there. My only regret is that we are only traveling through and I couldn’t sample the entire menu. It’s a small location but the atmosphere is on point and it is very busy because the food is fantastic! I was so full but I couldn’t leave without trying their crème brûlée and their cannolis. OMGOODNESS it was so worth being beyond full when we left. I will make a point to go there every time I am traveling through.

Kristina Kouris My mom & I were exploring the old railroad square and stumbled upon this place doing so. Im so happy we did! We came on a week day late afternoon/ early evening and there were some people, but not too crowded. We sat at the bar and had a drink & ordered a pizza. The bar tender was super nice & attentive. I got the Painted Lady drink which was good, not too sweet or strong. The wood fired pizza is amazing. I got the house made sausage one and it was incredible. The crust and toppings were just perfect! I would definitely come back here again when in the area!

Cindy Martin Carson We went here for breakfast this morning and it was great! Friendly and efficient service, good food, and a cozy diner ambiance. I had cheese blintzes (daily special) and they were divine. A lot of other items were very large, but the blintzes were the perfect amount of food. The mocha was also delicious! We live in Eureka, but we’d definitely be regulars if we lived in town!

Brian Williams The veggie empanades are amazing but honestly we have never had a bad meal here, lets get that straight! Every dish is a flavor bomb. I love this place and my wife and I have enjoyed Sazon for years. The expansion is amazing with the new deli area. The wraps are fantastic! Staff is always great, friendly and super helpful to explain the menu. We had the chicken wings for the first time today and wow!! You gotta try it to see for yourself.

Eric Nguyen Last minute dinner plans with my grandmother. Salmon wrap with tabbouleh and fries on the left, pineapple chicken croissant sandwich with a salad on the right. Plate in the center for sharing. Not pictured are the dolmas we got as an appetizer. Great food, great atmosphere. Definitely coming here again.

Jessica Wilcox Always enjoy eating at Iron and Vine. We’ve been here for brunch and dinner and food is always excellent. It’s a go-to when we have out of town guests as their menu has a variety of items. Food came out quick, service staff was attentive, and everyone enjoyed their drinks from the bar as well. I also want to say we love going here during the holiday season - they decorate the dining room with several trees and it always is very festive!

12.Montis

Address: 714 Village Ct, Santa Rosa, CA 95405

Richard Palmer A kitchen firing on all cylinders — let down by the front of house. Monti’s delivered one of those meals where dish after dish lands with quiet confidence. Not flashy for the sake of it, just thoughtful cooking, excellent ingredients, and plates that look as good as they taste. The flash-fried calamari set the tone immediately: tender, impeccably crisp, and paired with crispy fried lemon slices that were nearly as addictive as the calamari itself. Salty, citrusy, and bright — the kind of detail that signals a kitchen paying attention. Both burgers were standouts. The grilled lamb burger (gluten-free) arrived precisely medium-rare, juicy and deeply flavored, with creamy feta and cool cucumber tzatziki providing just the right contrast. The sirloin burger, topped with house-made bacon, blue cheese, and salsa verde, struck a similarly deft balance — rich without tipping into excess, the herbs keeping everything lively. The lemon tagliatelle with Dungeness crab was a highlight: silky pasta, generous crab, gentle heat from chilies, and enough lemon to keep the dish vibrant without overwhelming the sweetness of the seafood. This is a plate that disappears faster than you expect. And then there were the skinny fries — crisp, rosemary-flecked, and unapologetically indulgent thanks to the blue cheese. Not an afterthought side, but something you actively compete over. Dessert was a quiet triumph. The lemon olive oil pound cake, moist and fragrant, paired beautifully with honey-roasted grapes that brought warmth and depth, while the vanilla crème fraîche added just enough tang to keep the sweetness in check. Refined, balanced, and deeply satisfying. The wine choice didn’t disappoint either. The Guadagni Family Wines Sauvignon Blanc (Dry Creek Valley, 2024) was fresh and expressive, and the fact that Monti’s offers four Sauvignon Blancs on a compact list is genuinely impressive — a small but telling sign of a wine program run by people who care. Visually, the meal was as strong as the flavors. The photos say it all: clean, composed plates with real attention to presentation, without drifting into pretension. The catch: service. We waited a full 15 minutes before seeing a server and ultimately had to ask the host for help. When our server arrived, the opening line — “I’ll only be your server for the first half of your meal” — came before any apology or welcome. Add being seated at the table closest to the restrooms despite ample availability elsewhere, and the front-of-house experience simply didn’t match the quality of the food. Bottom line: Monti’s kitchen is doing excellent work, and we’ll absolutely return for the food and wine. Next time, though, we’ll be much more assertive about service — because a meal this good deserves a smoother landing.
