Dawn LeBeau My husband surprised me with dinner at Gio’s Prime 26 for my birthday after I raved about my high tea experience there. The Inn, itself, is lovely. Decorated beautifully for Christmas and well kept. I would love to go back to stay overnight.
First and foremost was how easy it was to park. Although they offer valet services (we didn’t realize they did), we were able to park quickly and easily. Just a short walk to the front door. The hostess was warm and welcoming and we were seated quickly.
From there, the service was attentive, warm and responsive. Scott is a fabulous waiter and, assisting him, Anthony was pleasant and helpful. I would go back just for these two. There is little that impresses me more than great service and I will overlook a bit to get it. Luckily, we didn’t have to overlook anything. The French Onion soup was tasty, very hot (I hate lukewarm food) and filling. We split this appetizer. Each Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked and the bordelaise sauce was to die for. My husband recommended the creamed spinach, which we would normally not have ordered, but he heard it was very good from the reviews. It did not disappoint! It was exceptional. Although the potatoes au gratin were a bit bland, a little extra salt fixed that. The crème brûlée and butterscotch pudding were just the right amount of wonderful to cap off the meal. We each had one drink and a glass of wine. Again, the drinks were very well made and generous pours. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed.
Long review, but this restaurant is a real gem. Again, the service alone made it stand out. Although a higher price point than some other restaurants it was worth it to feel like you’re in your own private world. I would absolutely return.
