1.Mings Revolving Sushi & Bar

Address: 734 Otay Lakes Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91910

Jillian Imilkowski High quality sushi and sashimi that you can order or pull off the revolving bar. Bar prices are $3.95/plate for 3-4 pieces of sushi or sashimi. Also has deserts. Or you can pay to order whole rolls that are about the same price as the grocery store but actually delicious! I’ve been enjoying the Mings special role, seared white tuna, sashimi, and seared scallop with jalapeño. Also, they’re small hot saggy is HUGE if you ask me. Happy hour is end of the day and I think it’s buy 3 get 1 free on the bar. Don’t quote me on that.

Dion Davila Friend of mine, invited me for the first time to this place. I really liked the concept. The food is different from the one had eaten in similar places. I ate divirced eggs. Angelica, one of the waitress is a star. She is very hospitable, attentive and friendly. I am pretty sure, that I will return. I highly, recommend this place.

Karina Lee I was apprehension about driving all the way to chula from north county but it was so worth it. I got cabeza, lengua, tripa, and cochinita tacos, all were so good with cabeza being my fav! The owner came out to talk with us and he was so nice, you can also hear him singing every once in a while. Feels like family!

7.Yard House

Address: 2015 Birch Rd #803, Chula Vista, CA 91915

Jack Sally I went to the Soft Opening on Saturday, 9/27, and had a great experience. We only waited about 15 minutes to get in, and were greeted with a goodie bag and two free drinks (thank you, Yard House!). Our server, April, was super helpful with food and drink recommendations since it was my first visit. They have an excellent selection of beers on tap, and the food came out quickly—about 10 minutes—which is impressive for a soft opening with such a crowd. Everything we ordered was delicious, definitely a 10/10. The staff seemed well-prepared and organized overall. The only downside was that the music was a bit loud, but it didn’t take away from the experience. I’m excited that this location is walking distance from me, and I’ll definitely be back to try more food and drinks!

8.Bag of Beans Cafe & Restaurant

May Rosal My husband and I recently dined at Bag of Beans Eastlake, and we were genuinely impressed. Despite the poor reviews when they first opened, our experience was the complete opposite. We ordered kare-kare, lechon kawali, and lumpia shanghai. The kare-kare was flavorful with just the right amount of sauce—not drowning, but enough to enjoy every bite. The meat was tender, generous in portion, and not oily. Definitely worth the price. The lechon kawali came with lechon sauce and atchara. It was juicy, tasty, and had a perfect balance of fat. The skin was crunchy but still easy on the teeth—if you know what I mean! The lumpia shanghai was not like other lumpia that have a lot of wrapper and barely any meat. This one had a decent amount of filling and was packed with flavor. For dessert, we had turon with ice cream. It was addicting! The turon had cream cheese inside, and the sweetness of the banana and caramelized sugar blended beautifully with the saltiness of the cream cheese. Add a scoop of ice cream to each bite and it’s like all the flavors just marry perfectly. Service was excellent—our waiter, Alfonso (or at least his name started with an A… LOL), was very attentive and friendly. The food came out quickly, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. We also bought Spanish bread and pandesal to go. The Spanish bread was delicious, but the pandesal could use a little improvement. Overall, we’re giving Bag of Beans Eastlake a solid five stars. The restaurant, including the bathroom, is clean. Also, food was high quality, not greasy, and worth the price. No post-meal headaches here! We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. I just hope they add more traditional Filipino items to the menu—like real halo-halo and bibingka, not just cocktails inspired by them. It would be great to see classics like sisig too. Highly recommended!

Victoria Hoffman A little hidden gem in Chula Vista that serves high-quality tasty Italian pasta at reasonable prices. Save yourself the trip to little Italy in downtown and visit this restaurant it’s much better. The walls are filled with cute art deco pieces and the atmosphere is cozy. We stopped by for lunch and ordered a variety of pasta dishes while sipping on white sangria. If your a fan of Italian soda there are different flavors to try just ask the server. There was also plenty of seating for large parties. Make sure to try their homemade bread!

Bee Elle M. I come here for the shrimp tacos. I like the en diablada, I don’t even think they’re on the menu anymore. You can’t go wrong with any of their shrimp tacos they’re all very good. There’s a pretty good taco Tuesday special but unfortunately none of the shrimp tacos are available with their taco Tuesday special. Atmosphere is very authentic. Food is a little pricey but very worth it!
